The Addicts were formed in Widnes in 1962.
Steve Duggan and Paul Nash were previously in another Widnes group, The Cadillacs who were formerly known as Rocky Stone & the Pebbles.
Paul Nash, the original bass guitarist, left late in 1963 and was replaced by Denny O'Neil.
After securing a record deal with Decca, the Addicts gigged nationally. They appeared at the Cavern Club in Liverpool only once, in November 1964. Although there was never a second single released the Addicts continued to play live and didn't split up until 1968, after which Geoff Keeley and Dennis Keeley joined the Michael Henry Group. Steve Duggan and Denny O'Neil are reported to have left the professional music circuit.
