The Ferris Wheel formed in 1966.

Michael Snow had previously been in the groups Lee Castle and the Barons and Simon's Triangle,  the latter of which had been formed to back the duo Diane Ferraz and Nicky Scott. He also had a brief stint with The Checkmates.
Dave Sweetnam and George Sweetnam had been in The Checkmates, one time backing their half-brother Emile Ford.
Mike Anthony was replaced by Keith Field.
This lineup recorded an album on the Pye label, from which was drawn three singles.
In 1968 Diane Ferraz left and was replaced by Marsha Hunt, who was soon replaced by Linda Lewis.
Barry Reeves was replaced by Dennis Elliott on drums.
In 1969 Keith Field left and was replaced by Terry Edmunds.
Before the group called it a day, Terry Edmunds was replaced by Bernie Holland, who himself was replaced by Jim Cregan.
In 1970 The Ferris Wheel released what was to be their final album, with Linda Lewis as lead vocalist.
When the band broke up in 1970, Linda Lewis became a solo artist and had massive commercial success during the 1970s. Mike Snow continued as a musician, songwriter and producer, working with artists like Colin Blunstone and Doris Troy. He also wrote the hit single 'Rosetta' for Georgie Fame and Alan Price, aka Fame and Price Together.
George Sweetnam became a session musician, working with many well-known artists like Steve Harley, Doris Troy and Medicine Head.
Barry Reeves later joined Blossom Toes before working with the James Last Orchestra.
Jim Cregan worked with Family, Steve Harley and Rod Stewart amongst others.
Dennis Elliott was later in the bands If and Foreigner.
