Formed in Dagenham, Essex in 1964.
Formerly known as The Sceptors.
The Afex were a group of 5 boys who were still at school when they made a record for the King label. They played in clubs and pubs in London during the week and then went to school the next day,
In 1969 Dave Ryan left the group and was replaced by Pete Wallend.
The Afex disbanded in 1970.
