Formed in the late 1950s in Liverpool as a skiffle group.
In 1959 they evolved into a beat group called The Ravens and added a singer called Robin.
They were also billed as Robin and the Ravens.
In September 1961, they changed their name to
Faron and the Flamingos when Bill Ruffley joined as a vocalist. Ruffley's nickname was Faron.
