Formed in Manchester in 1958.
In 1962 they performed mainly as The Dolphins.
John Robert Shaw joined in 1961 and left in 1962.
Bobby Elliott replaced Alan Buck in 1961.
Played at the Imperial Ballroom in Nelson and The Dolphin Club in Colne, both of which were in Lancashire, England.
Disbanded in early 1963 when Tony Hicks joined The Hollies.
Bernie Calvert originally played piano before switching to bass guitar.
Ricky Shaw was formerly in Les Skiflettes and left the music industry after the split of The Dolphins.
Tony Hicks was formerly in Les Skiflettes and later in The Hollies.
Bobby Elliott was formerly in Gerry Storm and the Falcons who changed their singer to Eddie Marten and became Eddie Marten and the Falcons. He also played with a jazz group called The Bob Price Quintet. Elliott was later in Shane Fenton and the Fentones before joining The Hollies late in 1963.
Bernie Calvert left the music industry for a few years after the break up of The Dolphins, but later joined The Hollies in 1966.
