Jimmy Crawford
Born: 1937
Jimmy Crawford was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
His first band was called Ron Lindsay and the Coasters
Signed to a recording contract as a solo artist with Columbia.
In 1962, Crawford appeared in the film 'Play It Cool' starring Billy Fury, with Shane Fenton.
Over the years Jimmy has sung with several backing bands, some had the same personnel but just went under a different name, such as Jimmy Crawford and the Ravens, Jimmy Crawford and the Messengers in early 1963, Jimmy Crawford with the Chantelles (sometimes spelt Shantells), The Jimmy Crawford Four and The Jimmy Crawford Blend.
Crawford toured Australia for six months in 1977, with Jim Ryder on guitar, Gary Lawson on keyboards and Barry Page on drums.
