The Eyes were formed in 1964 in Ealing, London out of the instrumental group The Renegades.
They were previously known as Gerry Hart and the Hartbeats.
Late in 1966, under the pseudonym the Pupils, the band issued an LP of Rolling Stones covers called 'A Tribute To The Rolling Stones'. 
Steve Valentine briefly replaced the departed Phil Heatley in 1967 for a few weeks before The Eyes disbanded.
