Formed in Brighton in 1961 as The Sapphires.
Were formerly known as Dale Saunders and the Sapphires with their original singer.
Had a residency at the Starlight Rooms in Brighton.
John Hills and Trevor Duplock were later in Bobby Sansom and the Giants, and Tony Grant and the Giants.

Apr 1963 Crawley, Railway Hotel. With The Blue Pacifics with Jonny Ocean, and Julie Vaga, and Dale Swain.
Dec 1963 Brighton, Starlight Rooms. Had a four-night-per-week residency here at this time.
31 Mar 1964 Brighton, Regent Ballroom. With The Chimes, The Zodiacs, and The Ron Smith Quartet.
