    3. Sorry, Malcolm, no. Just interested in 60s groups especially from my area of the UK.

  4. Hi Malcolm, I am in regular contact with Tony Dalby who like myself still plays guitar. Although seeking a more responsible career, I have on occasions played in local bands despite the fact now of lets say a being of a "senior age". I have a large collection of guitars and buy via auctions specialising in guitars . I trust you are keeping well, I think you still live in Staffordshire. I left Stafford in 1971 and via work lived in many parts of the UK, but now reside in the South. Despite the noise we made, I will always retain the happy memories of playing in the band, and indeed supporting the many national groups who came to play at the Yeoman Pub in Stafford. Kindest regards, Philip.

    1. Hi Phillip.
How strange after all these years. Do you have any information about Mike Dean.
I am still working restoring old Jaguar cars.
I did a recording vocal at my daughter’s wedding a few years ago and was talked into recording some tracks.
      Do you have your Burns.
      Please stay in touch.
If your ears can stand it go on YouTube put my name in and have a listen.
      Fantastic to hear from you.

    2. Hi Malcolm,
Unfortunately, I do not have any information regarding Mick Dean and neither has Tony Dalby, who I think was probably the last person in the band to have seen him. I as I have said left Stafford back in 1971 and rarely have visited the place since that time. No, the Burns guitar went before I left Stafford, actually in the band I had a Harmony H77 which was returned back to Stan Woodward. Currently, I have about 7 guitars a mixture of Fender and Gibsons. I decided years ago to study the guitar properly and went for many years to be taught by professional guitar teachers. I have no desire then or now to play in any band, although I have been asked to stand in for guitarist which when I did was great fun. Phil

    1. Thanks for commenting, Philip. I will update this entry accordingly. By the way, The Yeoman became The West Way. It eventually burnt down about 8-10 years ago.

    2. Thank you, I was aware of the fire. Surprisingly, there seems to little information online regarding the groups who played there. We supported Johnny Kid and the Pirates, the Applejacks, the Toggery Five, the lead singer was the superb voice of Paul Young went onto join Sad Cafe and Mike and the Mechanics. We also supported Mike Berry of the "Crying Game" fame. The Group managed to get a contact to play at the Yeoman after a successful gig in a Club in Stoke- On Trent, the owner I guess being also a booking agent.

  6. Do you remember managing to get the band a booking at Eggborough Power Station Social Club in Yorkshire, what and experience that was traveling all the way there to play for an hour, to then travel back through the night via the A1 back to Stafford - happy days, well at the time!
