Formed in June 1961 as Steve Day and the Jets after the departure of previous vocalist Johnny Rocco.
Steve Day, as Rod Pont, had previously been the vocalist in Wump and His Werbles.
Mike Nicholson, Derek Bond, Spike Sherratt and Phil Duggan had previously been in Johnny Rocco and the Jets.
Played in Hamburg, Germany at the Top Ten Club in 1963.
Barry Ezra replaced Mike Nicholson on lead guitar after the group came back from Germany.
Disbanded in May 1963.
After a couple of years away from performing in groups, Steve Day formed Steve Day and the Kinsmen in 1965.
In the 1970s Steve Day became a comedian under the name Rod McKenzie and won 'Opportunity Knocks' on television in 1978.

1 Dec 1961 Wallasey, New Brighton, Tower Ballroom. With The Beatles, Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, Dale Roberts and the Jaywalkers, Derry (Wilkie) and the Seniors, and Kingsize Taylor and the Dominoes.
1 Feb 1962 Liverpool, Thistle Cafe, West Kirby. With The Beatles.
18 Aug 1962 Chester, Riverpark Ballroom. With Faron's Flamingos, and Spike's Borders.
