Formed in Liverpool in 1961 as The Sorrals.
All but Maurice Daniels had been in The Cadillacs in 1960.
Pete Dobson joined in early 1962. He was previously in The Black Cats (aka Benny and the Black Cats)
Made a fan-club only demo EP in January 1963. The tracks featured were Runaway, Someday, Golden Earrings and Chariot Rock.
Had a residency from late in 1961 at St Barnabas Church Hall, Penny Lane, Liverpool.
Keith Draper, Brian Cox and Dave Foley joined The Nocturns in 1963.
Rod Long was previously in Gerry Bach and the Beathovens.
Alby and the Sorrals later changed their name to The Coins.
