The Four Jays began as The Two Jays, Brian O'Hara and Joey Bower. With the addition of Brian Redman and Billy Hatton, they became the Four Jays. As the Four Jays they appeared at The Cavern in Liverpool on many occasions from March 1961. They then changed their name to The Four Mosts in 1962. When they signed to Brian Epstein's management, the name shortened to The Fourmost.
