Rory Storm and the Wild Ones

Rory Storm's regular group were The Hurricanes, but when he was offered the lunchtime sessions in Liverpool, some of the Hurricanes had full-time jobs and couldn't get away. Not wanting to turn the gigs down, Rory put together a scratch band, calling it The Wild Ones, made up of his regulars, Johnny Guitar and Ringo Starr. Other musicians would deputise including Derek Bond on bass and often Paul McCartney on piano. There was also a sax player at many of the sessions.
Derek Bond was also playing with Johnny Rocco and the Jets.
Paul McCartney was also playing with The Beatles.

  1. I have a handbill for the lunchtime sessions, but it includes one on March 15 without the Big Three and with The Beatles. I can send a photo if you like.
