Formed in 1962(?) as a folk trio.
In 1964 The Overlanders had two minor hits in the U.S. Their version of 'Yesterday's Gone' reached No. 75 on the Billboard Hot 100, while 'Don't It Make You Feel Good' was a minor success regionally in the Chicago area.
David Walsh and Terry Widlake joined in November 1965.
Played for a month in the Storyville Club, Frankfurt throughout December 1965.
Recorded a version of The Beatles' 'Michelle' in Pye Studios, London, in early December 1965. The session was produced by Tony Hatch. It was their only UK hit reaching No.1 in the charts.
Paul Arnold left in late 1966 to pursue a solo career and was replaced by Ian Griffiths.
Walsh left January 1st 1967 joined Second City Sound, a Birmingham based band.
Terry Widlake left in early 1968 and The Overlanders disbanded.
Terry Widlake was later in Cuppa T and eventually became a member of Roy Orbison's backing band.
Vic Lythgoe was later in Cuppa T.
Paul Brett was later in Tintern Abbey.
After Paul Arnold's solo career didn't take off he formed The New Overlanders in the 1970s.
