An instrumental group.
Ted Taylor was previously in Sid Seymour's Mad Hatters.
The tune M.1. was featured on 'Juke Box Jury' in 1960 with Ted Taylor hiding behind the screen. It was reluctantly voted a hit by the panel.

A British vocal group.
Iris Long was formerly a member of Ivy Benson and Her All Girl Band.
Sheila Fuller was an early member of The Lana Sisters, but had to leave for personal reasons.
Managed by Evelyn Taylor.
Their version of 'You've Got What it Takes' became a Top 10 hit in Ireland in 1960. 
By the end of 1960 Mary O'Brien had left.
Mary O'Brien was later in The Springfields with her brother Tom Springfield before going solo as Dusty Springfield in 1963.
When Lynne Abrams left to get married, Iris Long formed The Chantelles, another vocal trio.

Kenny Lord and the Statesmen

Formed in London in the late 1950s.
Kenny Lord and the Statesmen were offered a management and production deal with Joe Meek, but Meek soon dopped The Statesmen and kept Kenny Lord, whose real name was Mike Bourne.
Mike Bourne later changed his name to Mike Berry, at the suggestion of Joe Meek, and recorded with The Outlaws, and then The Innocents.
The Statesmen disbanded in 1960.
