Formed in 1959 as The Pegasus Four.

They changed their name to The Toglodytes almost immediately after they started gigging.

Soon after they changed their name again to The Flintstones.

They were also billed as Ogi and the Flintstones after a mis-print in a local newpaper.

Recorded a reel-to-reel tape of themselves performing hits of the day in 1961.

At the time of writing, only one track has surfaced for public release.

Disbanded in 1963.

Pete Dunn was later a founding member of The Clayton Squares.

Frank Allen replaced Tony Jackson on bass guitar and vocals in 1964.
Tony Jackson was later in Tony Jackson and the Vibrations.

The Searchers joined with Johnny Sandon in 1960.
Came 5th in a poll held by Mersey Beat music paper of the most popular beat groups on Merseyside, with the results being announced in the issue published on 4 January 1962.
When Johnny Sandon and the Searchers parted ways in February 1962, Sandon was teamed up with The Remo Four and signed a management deal with Brian Epstein.
The Searchers went on to major national and international success.

There were two incarnations of The Bumblies. The first was formed around 1962 with George Robinson, Mike Parker and Dave Ferguson. Dougie ? left in 1963.
Managed by Norman Eastwood.
Barry Davidson, Jimmy Marr and John Tague were members of The Bumblies for a very short time.
Charlie Crane was added as a second vocalist in 1964.
The Bumblies later became The Cryin' Shames and recorded with Joe Meek for Decca.

Formed in Liverpool.
Alan Caldwell formed a skiffle group as early as 1958. He went through several names for his groups including Dracula & the Werewolves and Al Caldwell's Texans. This was later changed to The Raving Texans. By this time they were play rock 'n'roll aswell. Later the group would be called Al Storm and the Hurricanes and Jett Storm and the Hurricanes before settling on Rory Storm and the Hurricanes before the end of November 1959.

Chris Finlay - piano

Formed in 1959, they were originally called Gerry Marsden and the Mars Bars, but they were forced to change it by the Mars Company and they became Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Les McGuire replaced Arthur McMahon on piano in 1961. McGuire had played the tenor saxophone in The Vegas Five, who later became The Undertakers.
Came 2nd in a poll held by Mersey Beat music paper of the most popular beat groups on Merseyside, with the results being announced in the issue published on 4 January 1962.
Starred in the pantomime 'Babes in the Woods' at the Odeon, Cheltenham in January 1964.
Gerry and the Pacemakers starred in the film 'Ferry Cross the Mersey' in 1965.
The original line-up disbanded in 1966 but reformed for a short tour with Fats Domino in 1967. Then Gerry Marsden formed a new version of the Pacemakers to play live and eventually tour the cabaret circuit.

Kramer with the Dakotas, Freddie and the Dreamers, and Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers. The trip cost £2.10.00.
